Mary E. (Culkins) Carroll, 94, of Concord, died Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at her Concord home. She was the beloved wife of the late James F. Carroll, Sr.

Born in Concord on December 5, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Bernard Joseph Culkins and Catherine J. (Finnegan) Culkins. She attended Concord public schools and graduated from Concord High School in 1933.

For many years, Mrs. Carroll and her late husband, James, owned and operated The Gray Barn Antique Shop on Bedford Street in Concord.

A lifelong Concord resident, she was an avid gardener, enjoyed traveling and was an enthusiastic Red Sox Fan.

Survivors include 3 sons, Robert Carroll and his life partner, Paul Whitehead of Chicopee, Leo Carroll and his wife Michele of Anchorage, Alaska and Concord, MA and James Carroll, Jr. and his wife Consuelo of Mashpee, 7 grandchildren, Jenny Carroll, Sarah Chrabscz and her husband, Mark, Megan Russell and her husband Joe, Michael, Katie, Gabrielle and Elise Carroll and 1 sister, Barbara Pickel and her husband Richard of Concord. She was also the sister of the late John, Bernard, Leo and Robert Culkins.

Visiting hours at the Dee Funeral Home will be held on Thursday, March 11th from 4 to 8 PM.

Funeral Service will be held in the Farrar Chapel of the Dee Funeral Home on Friday, March 12th at 1 PM.

Interment will follow in the family burial plot in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Concord.
